7 MUST HAVE MAKEUP BRUSHES ( EYES )

IMG_0705

If I could rewind time and go back to when I was first starting to grow my makeup brush collection, I would definitely purchase these 7  Eye Makeup Brushes.

Among all the makeup brushes I have ever tried, I love these 7 the best. They vary in size and shape and are a mixture of MAC, Estee Lauder, Eco Tools and a random tiny highlighter brush.

Of all the brands, MAC and Eco Tools are my current favourite brushes. MAC brushes are just wickedly good, they are superior in quality, versatile and if you just play with them a little and learn to use them properly, your eye makeup can look fabulous.  Eco tools is cheaper but their eye shadow brush really packs on the color so so well. Their brushes aren’t scratchy too which is something I look out for when I buy cheaper brushes.

Overall, ECOTOOLS AND MAC BRUSHES are worth the money and eye makeup application is a breeze, the end product is seamless and these brushes last a long time,  PLUS they don’t shed much at all!

7 FAVOURITE EYE BRUSHES::

From Top to Bottom:

1) Eco Tool Eye Shading Brush

-Densely packed bristle allows for colors to be packed on

-Doesn’t scratch delicate eye area

-Does a decent job of blending out the color as well

-Earth Friendly material

2) Random Highlighting Brush

- Tiny brush is great for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes

- Great for packing on alot of color at a concentrated spot

- Doubles up as a lip brush

3) MAC 217

- Best blending brush ever ( This brush takes getting used to. If you have troubles making your eye shadow blend well, this brush is a god sent. It blends about anything.

- Doubles up as a highlighter, concealor, cream eye shadow application brush

4)MAC 224

-This dome shaped tapered blending brush creates the most beautiful crease. If you have a small tiny lid space you can opt for MAC 222.

-This fluffy brush doesn’t pack on color like crazy but it gives a nice, even and soft wash of color

- Doubles up as a  very nice highlighter brush for the brow bone area and is great for under eye highlighting due to its wide, fluffy and soft bristles.

5) MAC 219

- Great for Cut Crease Technique

- Great for outer V or C

- Bristles are soft yet firm enough to smudge both eyeliners and eye shadows

- Great for eye shadow application on lower lash line

6) MAC 266

- Angled firm brush applies cream or powder eyeliner like a dream ( perfect for winged eyeliner application)

-Great eyebrow brush, especially for people who are very particular about perfect looking eyebrows or those with thin brows

-Bristles are firm, not scratchy and the shape is perfect even after washing. Cheap brushes tend to lose it’s shape or the bristles fray, after any sort of washing.

7) Estee Lauder Angled Eyebrow Brush

- Firm Bristles help to shape eyebrows easily

-Picks up and deposits just the right amount of color onto eyebrow

-Helps create a lovely Korean looking brow due to it’s shape. Fatter than the MAC 266.

The only qualm I have about white bristled brush is that they get dirty very quickly. To clean my brushes, I usually use cleansing oil and a quick wash with a gentle face wash or shampoo. Works all the time for me.

What’s your favourite Eye Makeup Brush?

I heard so much about beauty of essence brushes but we don’t have them in Singapore  :( Coastal Scents makes some pretty good brushes too but that’s another post for another day :)
